Managing Your Image Files With Picasa

If you're like most bloggers and blog readers, you'd probably like to add images and graphics to some or all of your blog posts. So far, the simplest tool I've come across is Picasa. If you have a computer with any of Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, this is a great image file manager. And it allows you to visually scan all of your images, across your entire hard drive, at blinding speeds. If you have a Blogger.com account, what's even cooler is that if you sign up for a free account with the Hello service, you can ask Picasa to send an image to your Blogger blogs (to a single new post) via Hello. The image gets stored at Flickr.com.

Even if you don't use Blogger.com, you can use Picasa and Hello to share pictures with "friends" signed up with Hello. And even if that doesn't interest you, Picasa offers some simple image manipulations such as resizing, a few filters, and cropping, that mean you don't need to have explicit image manipulation software. You can also form collages of several images, watch slideshows, or burn a CD with a built-in slideshow.

Most of all, Picasa is very fast, even with large images, and relatively easy to use for anyone that can use a mouse. Go check it out. It may save you time if you like to work with images for your blog, or just in general.
